What is custom jewelry?

Custom jewelry is a one-of-a-kind piece created specially for the person who will be wearing the piece. This is the perfect way to celebrate life's biggest moments whether it is an engagement, wedding, anniversary, birthday, birth of a child, or any other milestone in your life. Custom jewelry can be a newly created piece, or it can be an heirloom piece that is redesigned into something that you will love and wear. Let's get started on designing your custom piece!

How does the custom jewelry process work? 

Step 1: Fill out the custom design inquiry form

The process begins by collecting information and inspiration from you! Fill out the form on the website to let me know what kind of piece you would like designed and share any inspirational photographs with me. Once you submit the form, you will be redirected to book your free consultation! 

Please anticipate an 4-12 week process for creating your custom piece. Many factors  influence the timeframe which will be discussed during our consultation. 

Step 2: Book a free consultation

After submitting the custom design inquiry form, you will be redirected to book your free consultation. If you are local to the Little Rock, AR area, you have the option to book an in-person meeting. After you select your time, I will contact you via phone to pick where we will meet (typically a local coffee shop!). 

If you are not local to Little Rock, please schedule a virtual consultation. 

The initial consultation is to meet, answer questions, and discuss details about your design. If we are redesigning an heirloom or if you have any gold to trade in, please have that with you.  

Step 3: Design & source

To move forward with a custom commission, a $250 design fee will be collected to begin the designing process. *Design fees will be put towards the total project amount. Design fees cannot be refunded if the order is canceled.*

I will then share sketches (pencil or CAD depending on the scope of the project) and images of diamond/gemstone options as we finalize our design. 

Step 4: Production and fabrication

A 50% deposit is required to begin crafting your custom piece. *Deposits cannot be refunded.*

Depending on the scope of the project, all or some of the work will be done in-house by Julia. Custom jewelry is either hand fabricated in-house, or it can be designed using CAD/CAM services then finished in-house. If CAD/CAM is required for your design, computerized renders and a wax model will be delivered for your approval. If Julia is hand fabricating your piece, picture updates will be sent throughout the fabrication process. 

To finish the process, a professional photograph will be taken of your piece (this is especially helpful for insurance purposes). 

Step 5: Delivery

The remaining balance for the piece is due before shipping. If you are local to Little Rock, a meeting will be arranged to hand deliver your custom piece. If you are not local, your piece will be shipped to you fully insured via FedEx.
